Chapter Eighteen
Tracy made a horrible mistake when he decided to roll through Club Avenue 101. He was bored after having dinner and chilling out with Lavonda, so he thought it would be a good idea to roll through the club and get his floss on right when everyone was exiting the club. He knew instantly once when he saw Sunny that he made a major fuckup. Sunny was his longtime girlfriend before he went to prison. Being the man he was, he chose to let her go because he didnât need the added pressure and stress while doing his time, worrying what she would have been doing, so he felt that decision would be best for both of them. She, however, thought he dogged her by letting her go. When he saw her leaving the club, all of the feelings he suppressed for her came rushing back to him big time. He was standing next to his brand-new Corvette with all eyes on him and his new toy. All eyes and the one pair of eyes he wished hadnât seen him did.
Sunny smiled and started walking toward him, and his heart began beating faster, not only because he was happy to see her still looking so good but also because he knew she would flip her wig when she saw Lavonda sitting in the front seat of his car. There was nothing he could do, so he stepped away from the car to cut her off.
âWhatâs good, Sunny? Looking good as always, I see,â he said with a smile on his face.
Sunny frowned and looked right past him at who was sitting inside of his car and said, âI must not be looking too damn good, Tracy Briggs. I see your ass got a boo thang with you tonight. I heard you been out for a few months, and I was wondering when you would give me a holla. When you didnât, I already knew you had something going on with someone else. And that is real fucked up, Tracy Briggs.â
âDead that and donât even think about tripping the fuck out right now. I didnât get at you because I figured youâd moved on with your life.â
âOh, now, arenât you ever the considerate one, Tracy Briggs. Always looking out for me and my little feelings. You ainât shit, Tracy Briggs. I wish I would never have fucked with your ass. As for me tripping on you, uh-uh, booboo, not my style anymore. I hope youâre happy with your new boo thang there. I see youâre getting your paper. Iâm happy for you. Hopefully, youâll be able to stay out of prison. Bye, Tracy,â Sunny said sadly as she turned and started walking toward her car, feeling as if her heart had been crushed by the one and only man sheâd ever loved. It took all of the control she could muster not to snatch that female out of his car and beat her ass. She was being mature and doing the right thing, but a part of her told herself to go back and fight for what was hers.
